Cadillac 429 series V8

To compliment our tuned exhaust system we can supply an uprated camshaft kit which consists of a high lift cam with more duration, uprated lifters, stronger valve springs and longer push rods. This improves the engine performance through the whole rev range but still retains a smooth 500 rpm tickover.

To improve crankcase breathing and eliminate engine fumes we have devised a kit which connects the engine breathers to the air cleaner housing giving a sealed system as seen on modern cars. The kit includes a polished aluminium oil filler cap.

Exhaust

The performance of Cadillac’s V8s in the 1960s must have always been compromised by the design of the exhaust headers and the use of an exhaust gas heated inlet manifold. Rousesport have developed tuned length headers and a full exhaust system in stainless steel to improve engine breathing and performance. A small modification to the cylinder heads is needed to blank off the heated inlet manifold.

The exhaust system has been designed to operate most efficiently at 3500 rpm or 90 mph. The noise level is quiet at cruising speed but sporty when accelerating and it accentuates the classic V8 rumble. The 3 inch tailpipe and silencer has a stylish chrome finisher. The system fits the original exhaust mountings but requires one extra mounting and a gearbox cross member modification for clearance. The system can be fitted with the engine in place.

Suspension

We can supply Koni adjustable dampers for the front suspension which greatly enhance the ride, stability and cornering grip. They are gas pressurised, have one adjusting knob and fit the original damper mountings.

The Monroe rear dampers stabilise the rear of the car and improve traction, and can be pressurised with tyre inflator to raise the rear ride height when the car is fully laden.

Electric Cooling System

The original visco fan is very noisy so we have developed an electric fan kit which only cuts in when needed. It has two speeds and an adjustable temperature setting. The temperature sensor fits in between the radiator core tubes so no change to the water hoses is necessary.

Wheels

We can supply 20 inch x 8 inch chrome polished alloy wheels which greatly enhance the car’s appearance and compliment the extensive chrome look of these cars. Fitting modern radial tyres improves steering, stability and cornering grip and contributes to the subtle customised appearance.
The wheels shown were carefully chosen to compliment the lines for the body style and can be fitted to the standard hubs using specially designed wheel spacers and longer wheel studs (lugs)

Interior

To improve the safety of your Cadillac we can offer inertia reel lap and diagonal seat belts to replace the original lap only belts. Further enhance your interior with new carpets and mats carrying the Cadillac logo. These are available in the original colours. Trunk carpets and spare wheel cover are also available.

A leather bound 13 inch alloy steering wheel is available in colours to match your car’s interior. It is supplied with a black alloy boss that incorporates indicator cancelling pegs and a centre horn push to which the original Cadillac steering wheel badge can be fitted.
